about

I wrote this song 13 years ago and played it live exactly once at a local tavern called the Bar Next Door in downtown Springfield, Missouri, USA.
I didn't think it was good enough so I shelved it. 11 years later the Freddie Gray incident occurred in Baltimore and I shared the song with my buddy Will Chiles. He challenged me to record a video of me playing it and share it on my facebook music page. It has been my most shared (1000+ times on my page and others) and liked video so far. Here's the single which will be on my next album accompanied by drums, stand-up bass and saxophone. Buying this will help me record the album. Thank you for your support.

lyrics

Said my brother
brother blue
won't you lend me your ear?

Yes my brother
brother blue
won't you lend me your ear?

'coz there's something
that ain't going right
over here

Take my sorrow
take my pain
and I turn it into war

Take my sorrow
take my pain
and I turn it into war

Well this doesn't
have to happen
any more

So my brother
brother blue
as you lend me your ear

know that love
is a weapon
as you lend me your ear

and that weapon
it will prosper
over fear
